AW25- SIT UP!

Date

March 2025

This collection marked our debut at Madrid Fashion Week in February 2025.

Sit Up! is a sporty-streetwear collection inspired by the role of sports in certain areas of Mexico City as a source of empowerment, resilience, and community. Dominated by shades of gray to reflect the urban concrete landscape, the designs incorporate metallic rings reminiscent of exercise equipment, symbolizing strength and adaptability. The collection merges functionality with knitwear, embodying movement, vitality, and hope.

The idea originated from observing how sports in certain areas of Mexico City serve as an outlet for resilience, empowerment, and community building. The collection aimed to translate this energy into garments that embody strength and adaptability.
Proximity production was a priority. We carefully sourced high-quality, sustainable yarns from local suppliers, ensuring transparency and minimizing environmental impact. The dominant gray tones were chosen to mirror the urban concrete landscape, while metallic textures were integrated to evoke gymnastic structures and street workout equipment.

Since knitwear is at the core of rtama, this collection pushed the boundaries of multi-functionality and structure. Through various knitting techniques, we explored textures that mimic movement, flexibility, and resistance—key elements of both sports and resilience.

Each piece was developed with an emphasis on functionality and adaptability, ensuring wearers could experience comfort and fluidity. The sporty-street aesthetic was shaped by testing silhouettes that allow for ease of movement while maintaining an avant-garde edge.

The final pieces were crafted in collaboration with local artisans and skilled knitters, reinforcing rtama’s philosophy of ethical, small-scale production. Every stitch and detail reflects a balance between tradition and modernity, merging handmade artistry with contemporary fashion.

Before the runway debut at Madrid Fashion Week EGO, the collection underwent final refinements,.The campaign and visuals were designed to highlight the connection between sports, city life, and personal strength, bringing the narrative full circle.
